RLPG Tank Remediation, Stage I and II, Hydrocarbon Plant
Wescott was engaged by Santos to remediate damage to RLPG storage tanks at their Port Bonython Hydrocarbon plant. Santos had gone to market in order to find an innovative means of safely and efficiently accessing the top strake of cladding which had been compromised by native bird life. Wescott deployed a small team of multi-disciplined operatives whom completed the project on ropes access via the V Deck suspended platform. The works included the removal, blast and paint, and reinstallation of insulation and cladding.
A hugely successful series of projects, Wescott and Santos together won the 2020 SA Premiers Award for Health and Safety for the scope, and were successful in saving and relocating endangered wildlife in the process.
Stage III is set to begin mid-year 2021.
